Keira Knightley

Knightley was born in London and was her parents being Will Knightley and Sharman Mcdonald. Knightley was able to get her first agent when she was just six years old. At that age, she started working in commercials and TV. Knightley played Sabe in a minor character on the set of Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1998). Her breakthrough came when she played a tomboy footballer in the film Bend It Like Beckham (2002) in which she then went on to gain the world's attention for her performance as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler adventure series Pirates of the Caribbean, from 2003. She starred in the romantic comedy Love Actually and was called a promising young woman. Knightley got the Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 when she played Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the romantic historical novel Pride & Prejudice. The actress appeared in a myriad of other period films in which she played a complicated love attraction at the end of Atonement (2007) as well as a foodie Georgiana Cavendish on The Duchess (2008), and the titular socialite in Anna Karenina (2012). In modern dramas, she portrayed an ambitious music student in Begin Again (2012) and a physician in Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit (2013). Knightley was back in historical films in The Imitation Game in 2014 when she was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. In 2018, Knightley played the writer Colette.
